Gui Xin moves from a cool herbal-wood opening towards sweet wood and grounding resin. It offers a small invitation to return to the present.

The name

Its name, the heart returning, recalls the closing words of Cao Cao’s Short Song Style and brings them into a personal wish: however far the day takes us, there is a place to return.

The story behind the fragrance

Jiangzhen appears in historical incense writing alongside Daoist incense traditions. The Jiangzhen entry in Tujing yanyi bencao preserves a legend of burning incense drawing cranes down. The leaflet draws on that literary image: rising smoke and returning birds give a visible form to the idea of return.

XIANSU carries that image into an invitation to come back to yourself. Cool herbal wood opens into sweet wood and grounding resin, accompanying a return to the present.

Historical reference: Tujing yanyi bencao, Jiangzhen

Details

20 incense sticks per box, approximately 30 minutes each, in a sealed storage tube and outer box.

How to use

Light one end, then gently blow out the flame, leaving a glowing ember. Secure the stick in a suitable holder or heat-resistant censer with a fire-resistant pad underneath to collect ash. Return unused sticks to the tube and keep sealed, away from light and humidity.

Handle with care

Incense cakes and sticks are delicate; handle them gently. Broken portions can still be used. For damage, defects or other concerns, please contact us and refer to our Returns & Refunds policy.

Origin and reference weight

Made in Dapu, Yongchun, Fujian. Approximate reference weight per box: 38.4 g; this is not a declaration of net incense weight or final shipping weight.

Dimensions per stick

Length 21 cm; approximate diameter 1.6 mm. These are the incense stick dimensions, excluding packaging.

Safety

Use a stable, heat-resistant surface in a ventilated space, away from children, pets, drafts and flammable objects. Never leave burning incense unattended. Let ash and the vessel cool fully before handling.
